We have been stuck at home this week due to the amazing snow storm we got. The kids have been thrilled with all the snow and being able to break in the sleds they received 2 years ago that they never got to use until this week. There has been no school all week due to the weather so they have gotten in a lot of sledding hours.

Sorry for being MIA lately. I have been under the weather with this and that etc since Thanksgiving. I'm starting to get better and hope that all the other bugs and germs will keep their distance from me... lol

Today I would like to share with you a easy and fun little journal that I covered featuring stamps from A Jillian Vance Designs. This Journal is 2.5"x3.5" and I love to use little journals like this to do my card sketches in, to have for scratch paper etc.

Let it Snow Card Featuring A Jillian Vance Design Stamps

Today I would like to share with you a card I created with the fabulous A Jillian Vance Design Stamps.. I just adore them all... We still don't have any snow and I wish we did... So with that here is my "Let it Snow" card...

Products used:

A Jillian Vance Design Just Snowflakes Stamp Set

A Jillian Vance Design Snowflake Sentiments Stamp Set

Core'dinations Cardstock

Kraft Cardstock

File Folder

Tim Holtz Distress Inks

Brilliance Moonlight White Ink

UTEE

Versa Magic Night Sky Ink

ColorBox Creamy Brown Ink

Vintage Ribbon

EK Punch

Here is a close up photo...

Card Instructions:

Trim Kraft Cardstock to 8.5"x5.5" and fold in half to create card base.
Trim Core'dinations Cardstock to 5.25"x4" set aside
Trim File Folder to 4"x4" and create your own pattern paper.

To get the snowflake Pattern Paper. Use the 4x4 piece you cut out from a file folder. Stamp 2-3 of the snowflakes with Brilliance Moonlight White and then dump UTEE on them and heated it up. I stamped a few more snowflakes and did the same process. Then I took out my Distress inks and Inking tool and inked the file folder from "Tumbled Glass" on top, "Broken China" in the Middle and "Faded Jeans" on the bottom. You always want to go from light to dark when working with inks, paints etc. I then spritzed it with water to let it run a bit and heated it up. Be careful to not rub the UTEE when it's hot as it may smear. I then flicked a few water droplets onto my pattern paper and heated it again for the droplets to dry.

Using EK border punch. Punch top and bottom. Adhere to Core'dinations 5.25"x4" piece of cardstock.
Wrap Vintage ribbon around and tie off into a bow. Adhere to card base.
Stamp Sentiment on scrap piece of file folder. Adhere to card

Instead of rain I think I would rather have snow... Even thought I live in the Pacific Northwest it doesn't snow all that much where we are located, but there are times that we have gotten dumped on also so I guess it's hit or miss with the snow for us... The kids already have there sleds ready for that day if it ever arrives. lol

So with snow on my mind I had to create a "Let it Snow" card. The boys just loved it... I also used the Sketchy Wednesday sketch for KinderStampO for this card.

I never really thought of decorating tags till about a month ago... Let me tell ya it is an amazing way to get creative and use up those little odds and ends that you may have laying around... I have been working on a mini album for a couple weeks. It has been a long time since I created one and I have to say I really missed it.. I use to teach a mini album very close to this using envelopes and cards several years ago and a friend of mine directed me to Kathy Orta's YouTube channel saying her album reminded her of mine years ago... Pretty close but I love her Library pocket page better. I also loved how she bound the album as years ago all we really had was rings, ribbon and eyelets... but who would of thought of duck tape... I chose to do mine with tyvek and ink it as I wanted an older look to my binding. I love the whole idea of tyvek and glad that Kathy Orta pointed me in it's direction... If you like this album Kathy Orta has really broke the steps down and shared this mini album in a series of 4 videos. Awesome videos...

Live:
Originally from Illinois, but currently living in the Pacific Northwest with my amazing husband, 4 children, 2 fur babies Lola and Fiona and a fish named Joc. You can say there is never a dull moment in our home. When the kids are at school or busy with friends etc you can find me in my craft room creating. When I'm not being crafty I love to read, write, draw, listen to music and cook.

Craft:
I have been scrapbooking for over 19 years now. It all started with a way of keeping our family up to date on how the kids were growing and reaching there milestones, goals etc. As well as sending hubby mini albums of home while he was on deployment. I love scrapping the everyday moments the most with a few holidays thrown in. 3 years ago I really got into card making and just love it. Before that I couldn't make a card to save my life. My style is a Hodge-Podge of Vintage, Shabby Chic to Modern and Clean.

Inspire:
I am inspired by Color, Vintage Images, Art, Music and others whom love to scrapbook and create. I love being around creative people and enjoy sharing my projects and ideas with others. I enjoy teaching classes and being involved creatively in my community.

Happy Birthday Card

Today is the last day of summer vacation for my children... Tomorrow they are back to school and I can't wait to hear all the stories of school, teacher and new friends... We spent the long weekend shopping for school clothes, new shoes and cooking out. Plus I spent a lot of time in my craft room moving things around and getting organized. Out with the old and in with the new so to speak.

While I was in my craft room I did get inspired and had to take some time out of organizing to create a few projects. With that said here is a little card I created with one of the new My Minds Eye collections.

When I was looking at the Simple Stories "Destination collection" at my local scrapbook store the quote "It's not the destination that counts..... Look what I have been sewing again....

See what I have been sewing again....

I get e-mails every week asking when I am going to put my little owl keychains back in my Etsy shop??? I have been creating these little owls since I was a freshmen in high school and this weekend I have been sewing and sewing these little guys... I do not have them in my Etsy shop just yet but if you have been waiting for one or want one in certain colors please feel free to e-mail me at ElisaK12 at gmail dot com. They come either flat for $8 or stuffed for $10. Each little owl has a hand stitched heart on it's backside. All hand cut and sewn from my smoke free home. Because they are all hand cut and not from a pattern no 2 are alike.

I have also been busy creating some canvases featuring my little owls that have been seen in Simply Handmade magazine a few years ago.

Canvas wall hangings range from $20-$75 depending on size. Everything is hand sewn onto the canvas.

Tuesday Color Combo...

The Pattern Paper

*You will need 2 of these sheet of paper

Trim Core'dinations cardstock to 3.25x12 and fold in half to create your card base.
Cut out the "apple of my eye" from pattern paper, Tie a ribbon around the cut out and adhere it to your card base.
Next cut out all the apples from the additional sheet of pattern paper, Ink the edges of each apple and add foam dots to the backs and pop them right over the apples on the card front.

That's it. Simple and Easy.

Purple Cow's New Wind it tool...

I love creating my own embellishments to add to my projects so when I received the Wind It from Purple Cows I was thrilled. Not to mention that I have had a stock of wire that has just been sitting in my craft room for many years waiting to be created into wonderful embellishments.

The Wind It is an amazing Wire winding template. With four different templates totaling 10 different unique designs to chose from.

To start you first insert your wire into the small hole of the design you are working with. Wind your wire around the guides following the design. Once your done simply snip your wire and remove your finished embellishment and adhere it to your project. It really is that easy.

Here is a card I created with a wire embellishment that was created on the Wind It.

I just love creating with Amazing paper and Spellbinders.. When I was in Illinois for CHA this summer I went to a Joanns and totally scored. They had Spellbinders marked down from $5.97 - $2.97 I grabbed them all and new if I had doubles that some friends would buy them. lol I only ended up with 4 doubles which are now gone. Now that I am finally back in the swing of things I have been creating up a store and breaking in the Spellbinders.

Today I would like to share with you a little card I created featuring a few of my favorite things...

I love creating cards and using my dimensional punches from McGill. They often add that little something that is needed. The flowers on the bottom of the bird cage were created with the McGill dimensional tree punch. I punched out 15 of the little flowers in the punch. I used my McGill Tool kit and molding mat to cup 10 of the little flowers making sure to cup 5 of the 10 a bit more then the others . I then layered the flowers with a flat one on the bottom and a cupped one in the middle and putting another more cupped one on top. Then added a Martha Stewart mini pearl to the centers of each of the flowers. I lined them up where the holes where at the bottom of my birdcage. Of course I had to add the 2 little birds to the birdcage. The birds were punched from the McGill dimensional bird punch and I just swapped out each of the birds wings with the others to add character. I love Kraft paper and often use it for the base of my cards. I don't know but there is just something about the paper that I just have to use it.

Today I would like to share with you a card that I created for McGill. It features the floral rose. I swear who would of thought you can create flowers like this with paper and punches. If you like the rose and are planning on attending CHA I will be teaching the McGill 2 hour flower workshop and this flower is on the list of flowers in the class. Little Girl cards and a Sketch

Today I would like to share with you a couple cards I made. Right now I am calling them "My little girl" cards as they don't have a sentiment just yet. I love creating cards but a lot of the time I am not sure what sentiment I want on it or who I am going to send it off to. Which is nice as I always have a card ready when I need one. All I have to do is add the sentiment or just write something inside. Wow I can't believe it's been a couple weeks since I last posted... I have been so busy with my children, organizing my scrapbook room, teaching classes and creating a lot of projects that some days I didn't know if I was coming or going.. So now that things have settled down a bit and you can actually walk in my scrapbook room I have time for a break here and there. LOL

Today I would like to share with you a card that is also being featured on the McGill Inc Blog today. It features a single Lily created with Core'dinations whitewash cardstock that I sanded parts of to bring out the yellow core color. If you haven't seen the McGill Paper Blossom punches yet you might want to take a look. I love that I can create over 15 different flowers and use any cardstock and or pattern papers that will match what ever project I am working on. I just adore the simplicity of the Lily flower.

Wow does time fly... and a Giveaway

I can't believe I haven't posted for a couple weeks. Things have been a bit crazy here with the kids schedules, me getting sick and trying to purge all the scrappy stuff in my scrap room so I can once again move and scrap in my scrap room again. I have also started Weight Watchers. Now let me tell ya it hasn't been easy... I am having huge problems drinking all the water and trying to eat all my points worth. Lets just say I have come to terms with not being able to eat all my points but the drinking 8-10 glasses of water a day is killing me and not to mention I feel like a bloated fish in a tank 10times to big. lol Oh well I will say that my first week on WW I did loose 2lbs. I'm doing great and even though I miss my daily Starbucks Green Tea Frap. I am loving my fruit smoothies.

On to creative stuff...

I have been doing a lot of cardmaking lately... what's new right. lol So here is one that I wanted to share with you today. I call it a gift card card. lol The little envelope fits a gift card perfectly. I just adore the little envelope.

Dimensional Butterflies & a GIVEAWAY

My First Publication with Cards...

I have been submitting my cards for years to Cards magazine and finally received an amazing e-mail a few months ago. My first Card ever is published in the March issue of Cards Magazine... I am still excited about this.

I haven't submitted for a few months as I have been busy etc, but will be starting again today. Not to mention my blog updating has been a bit on the back burner but I made a promise to myself to start making time for me each day. With that said I am off to the salon.

New addition to our family...

This week we opened up our hearts and our home to this little one... Meet Fiona, She is a Morkie (half Maltese and half Yorkie)

She has already filled out hearts with so much joy. Even if she keeps us up most nights. hehe

With all her 1 1/2lbs she loves playing and pouncing on Lola our 3 year old Min Pin/ Chihuahua. She enjoys her toys, her crate, chewing on our hair and just cuddling up with us on the couch. She is already spoiled like her big sister.. hehe

I have to say this is my first time using a digi image on a card but I did my thing and I just love the way it turned out.. If your new to digi images for card making like myself all the images print in black and white so you color it anyway you like or even print it on pattern paper etc. Just like stamping but without the stamp. Today I bring you this weeks Get Sketchy sketch. I had fun with this sketch and using up some scraps that I have had in my scrap bin. I don't keep a lot of scraps as I tend not to use them like I should so one of the things I am doing this year is to create cards with all my left overs from creating layouts or projects. It has always been my best intention to do this but as life always seems to get in the way things often get put on the back burner and before you know it you have a box filled with scraps. Well NO more... lol I have been cleaning and organizing my scrap room and vow to only keep scraps for no longer then a month. At the beginning of the next month I will empty that drawer and bring it to my LSS to see if any of the ladies there want it and if not then it goes in the trash... Ok so enough chit chat..

Our Holidays were ok this year, but doing it all by myself was hard but I had a fun time with it and was grateful that hubby was able to watch the kids open up gifts via skype... Skype has been a part of our every day lives and I am so thankful for it. Without it I would not be able to see my hubby and he wouldn't be able to see the kids and I. It's made this deployment a bit easier.

I embossed both pieces with my embossing folders
I then removed the clear coating
I used StazOn (it's my go to ink and trusted in for Acrylic) Black and Metallic gold and inked the back of my pieces
On the Black frame I also used Viva Pearl White to embellish my embossed dots
On the Ornament I inked the embossed image with StazOn Metallic Copper then embellished it with Glitter

Christmas Paper and a Cricut... Plus a Giveaway

I love saving my holiday papers that I don't use from the years before and I am also one to shop for Christmas paper after the holiday. I even buy Christmas paper in Feb. when stores clearance it out.. You are probably wondering why.... Well every year I make these fab little boxes for my kids to take to school to pass out to friends, teachers ect.

So you are probably wondering how I made these... Well today is your lucky day because with it being the sharing and giving time of the year. I figured I would share how these little goody boxes are made..

things you will need...
Cricut
Wild Card Cartridge
Pattern paper
Hambly transparencies
ribbon
embellishments
good sticky tape

Cutting your box on the Cricut is so easy... Load up your pattern paper and select 5 1/2 for your size make sure you have real dial size on and also turn on the fill page. You will only get 2 boxes per 12x12 pattern paper. I also like to use the heavier cardstock pattern paper.

Once your done cutting out all your boxes with your cricut punch some fun shapes from the scraps left over or what ever scraps you have. I also take some other papers and cut out trees, snow flakes etc. Embellish your embellishments with glitter if you like.

Now it's time to assemble your boxes. I like to use a good sticky tape like Scor Tape (by Scor-pal) google it and you will be amazed. I use this to assemble my boxes. It goes quicker if you fold all your parts on the boxes first and then I apply tape to all of them and then assemble them.

I cut my Hambly transparencies bigger then the window and apply with Scor tape also (you can also do this step before assembling your boxes which ever way works best for you.)

Once done with all of them I fill my boxes with candies. I like to get the flatter pieces of candy like the Hershey's bit size candy bars. I also find some small little chocolate balls and Santa and snowman football shaped candies at Walgreens by Palmer in 2oz bags (it's the only store I have been able to find them at and they are usually 2 for a $1) I put 2 of each of these in the boxes and Palmer makes some other "flat" chocolate candies as well that I love to use like mini crisp kringles, cookies in cream, Andes Candies (original ones or the others are to big) small candy canes etc.

When you are done filling the boxes use a ribbon to wrap around and tie in a bow (this helps keep your box from opening and spilling out your candy) Now embellish if you like.

I also make these for the kids to pass out on Valentines day.

On my second one I turned it into a gift card holder to hang on my Christmas Tree. I just love the home made feel of these and they look great hanging from the tree. Instructions

trim cardstock to 4 1/4 x 7 and fold in half with the folded side at the bottom and glue on both sides leaving the top open
trim pattern paper to 4 1/4 x 3 1/2
stamp image on left corner
emboss
Ink edges of pattern paper and adhere to the front of your gift card holder
Adhere ribbon to the bottom of your card
Cut out Christmas tree (I used my Christmas Cheer Cricut cartridge)
ink edges of tree and place on your card ( I used foam tape to pop my tree up a bit)
Punch your holes on top and add eyelets to them
run your cord,ribbon etc through them and tie a bow
Hang them in your tree, with a stocking etc.

This will make a great teacher gift with a Starbucks etc card inside.

Yesterday we had our first snow fall of the season. Today we are having our first snow day of the season.

When the kids got home yesterday they wanted to play in all the fluffy snow so Miranda grabbed the camera and snapped a few photos. Which was perfect as I was creating with the We R Memory Keepers Merry January collection for Lila's Scrapbooking and snow photos is what I needed.

Here is my layout and a couple cards.

I added some October afternoon mini alphas as they were the perfect color and a black #1 thicker from American Crafts. Everything else is We R Memory Keepers Merry January.

I added a flower soft topper and flower soft to the card on the right. I am just loving flower soft.

This week at Get Sketchy we were to find something in our home that inspires us and design a card based on that. Since the holidays are approaching we have been slowly getting our Christmas Decorations up. This sits on my mantle. (The tree was published in Simply Handmade Dec/Jan 2009 issue)

I choose to take Gold as my focal color as well as use something that is flowing etc. So this is the card I came up with.

Yes I have. I found out a couple weeks ago that I was selected as a New Designer for Get Sketchy Card Challenges. I am beyond thrilled about this new adventure. If you know me you know I haven't considered myself a card maker until very recently. I always loved to make cards but was never really happy with them till I started looking at cards as small little canvases and then something clicked inside my head and I started creating cards with that in mind and Now not only do I enjoy making cards but I actually like the cards I'm creating. LOL

I recently got a huge box in the mail from Two Peas and couldn't help but dive right in and get creative. I will be the first to say that I don't order from them a lot but when I do it's because they have something that I'm looking for that I can't find locally or they have an amazing sale that I just can't pass up. Can you say Prima at 30-50% off. Plus free shipping on orders over $50 yeah that's not hard to do with a box filled with Prima flowers, bling, pearls and paper. I created a layout and 2 cards. I can't show you the layout just yet as It's something I made for a certain company mixing it with some of their Mixed Media products but as soon as I can I will post away.

Thankful for My Family

When I seen the new Teresa Collins Giving Thanks collection I knew I wanted it to be our November Family Mini. I don't normally do monthly mini albums but when hubby is deployed that is something that I do. When it's filled in with photos etc then I ship it to him so he can see what we have been up to what the kids are doing and how things are at home. It's his little piece of home that comes to him.. Each page is also a pocket that will have letters placed inside them to him from the kids as well as more photos etc.

Vintage Santa Images

I am totally loving all the Vintage Santa images that you see in pattern papers this year. Pink Paislee has totally out did themselves and I am in love with the Father Christmas line. I paired the Father Christmas line with a clear acrylic star from Clear Scraps.

I love using all the different clear shapes that Clear Scraps makes. I enjoying using them on my layouts and altered projects but most of all I love using them as the focal point of my cards. Today I am showcasing Clear Scraps "Small Stars" which are great for any project no matter what theme or event your working on. I love to ink them up and emboss them to make them stand out more on projects.

Vintage Glass Glitter

Zig Silver paint pen

Staz-on Teal Ink

Ribbon

Instructions:

Cut cardstock to 10.5 x 5.25 and fold in half

Cut pattern paper to 5x5 and ink edges in Creamy Brown and adhere to front of card

Peel off protective coating from star and ink with Staz-on Teal ink

When dry emboss star

Paint the embossed image with the silver Zig Paint Pen
Trim out Santa from pattern paper and apply Vintage Glitter Glass with favorite adhesive and then pop dot to center of star.

Adhere Star to center of the card

Add ribbon and tie in bow.

I have already started my Christmas Cards for this year. I actually started a couple weeks ago and I am so glad that I did as I will be sending a lot of cards to my husband and his squadron as they will be leaving soon. Christmas will be a little different for us this year with Hubby being gone this year we are actually doing a mini Christmas here in a couple weeks. So I am looking forward to putting up our Christmas tree next week. Never thought I would put it up before Thanksgiving.. lol

I love making cards for my boys and hubby and Scrap Within Reach Industrial Park collection is perfect for any male theme cards you may need to create. I also mixed in the Noteblocks from the Cambridge Collection.

This first card features a kraft mini bag from Scrap Within Reach. It's a great way to add a gift card to your card.

I just adore the Noteblocks in the Cambridge Collection and it makes for a quick card that is sure to stand out.

Aluminum Foil and Alcohol inks

Last week I showed you this card using aluminum foil.

I promised I would show you what I did to my leaf. So today is the day.

Supplies needed:
Scrap paper
Glue Stick
Alcohol inks (I used Terra Cotta Black and Metallic gold)
Aluminum foil
Inking tool
Leaf dye and embossing folder

Instructions:
1. Tear off some aluminum foil and crush it up a bit
2. Apply glue to scrap paper
3. Place aluminum foil on top of scrap piece of paper and smooth it out

4. Trim off extra aluminum foil and die cut your leaf from your paper and then emboss it

5. Shake Metallic Gold alcohol ink and apply a few drops directly to your leaf

6. Apply Terra Cotta alcohol ink to your Inking tool and start dabbing your leaf till it's covered with ink.

7. Apply a small dot of black alcohol ink to a new felt strip on your inking tool and dab in a couple spots and then switch back to felt strip with Terra Cotta alcohol ink and dab over black ink.

8. Continue dabbing your leaf letting the ink dry some and then dabbing it again. Once you get the look that your looking for set it aside and let it dry.

9. Use your leaf as an embellishment on a card.

I also did the same technique on a pumpkin.

Trick or Treat

You already know that I love Halloween but I also love owls and I guess if you know me you already knew that. So naturally I had to make a card with an owl on it but how to make it a spooky owl... With my Cricut of course... I used the Create a Critter cartridge with some Basic Grey pattern paper and I just adore how it turned out.

I love all the colors of Halloween and love when the kids get dressed up etc. The only thing I dislike about this time of year is all the scary movies on television. I can't watch scary movies. I think the scariest I go is watching Sweeny Todd or Ghost Hunters.lol Miranda loves scary movies but they just freak me out. lol

Welcome Fall...

Fall is finally in the air around here. The leaves are turning and falling already and the air is crisp. Lots of apples and pumpkins at the market. Not to mention its baking season for me. hehe

I just love Halloween. I love all the colors and seeing the excitement in my kido's eyes when they get to dress up for school and to go trick or treating. They also love giving there teachers a little card with a treat bag of candy...

Back on Schedule...

Wow the past couple weeks just zoomed on by. School started on the 8th of September here and things are finally falling back into a nice schedule. With school starting Isaiah also started back on his Taekwondo journey. He is loving the new studio and can't wait to get his 2nd degree black belt. Miranda started Hot Yoga at the studio. She totally loves it. Joshua loves to tag along and spends his time at the studio playing his Nintendo DS. Hubby's schedule is always busy at work and we never know when he will be home.

I have been busy scrapping away and teaching classes at Lila's Scrapbooking and More. I always love doing Christmas Cards and love that all the ladies from last year have signed up for my Christmas Classes once again. It's always a fun time.

Here are a couple cards from my last card class. I always make up extra kits that we put up for sale in the store for those that aren't able to make the class or haven't had a chance to get in the store for a few weeks.
My next Christmas card class is on October 27th from 3-4 or 5-6 but on October 13th you can join me for my 1 and only Halloween class this year time is 3-4 or 5-6. Hope to see ya there.

Now that things are finally back on a schedule I will be blogging more and more.

I love working with all of the XL shapes from Clear Scraps. Today I am sharing a layout that I did with the XL Deco Squares. They come 2 to a package with 2 different shapes. If you are wondering or looking for a different XL shape then Clear Scraps has got you covered. There are several different shape combinations for you to choose from. Here are a few Tips that I wrote down while I was doing this layout.

1. Using the Zig Paint Marker shake it up very well and just follow your edge. Go slow if you don't have a steady hand. It dries pretty quick which is nice.

2. While it's drying get your papers cut and trim your edges with your favorite decorative edge punch.

3. Ink all the edges of your papers.

4. Find some of your favorite embellishments that you have in your stash that will work with your papers. A lot of times I will just use what is left on my desk from a previous layout or project. A great way to use up those stragglers.

5. Build your layout on the XL Deco Acrylic shape with a strong adhesive. Remember the laws of gravity. A few of my favorites are Zip Dry and 3-in-1 which are both made by Beacon and are a wet adhesive. If you are a dry adhesive user Glue Arts High Tac works great.

6. The little black polka dot butterflies where punched from the package that the bling came in.

This past year, we had an awesome opportunity to team up with Unity Stamps and we'd love to show you some of the projects we were able to create pairing a crisp, clean rubber stamp image and the acrylic and chipboard products from Clear Scraps. I choose to feature a layout using the XL Deco shape and a few of my favorite Unity stamps from the June, July and August "kit of the month" sets.

Using Staz-on Teal ink I stamped an image several times to create a pattern for the background of my layout. I then added my photo and stamped the word Love using black Staz-on ink. I then stamped a few other items on Kraft paper and added them as embellishments to my page along with a button. I then turned my layout over and painted on the back so my stamped images would pop on the front. I finished off the layout with some alphas for my title and some simple sweet journaling.

Wow I can't believe it's been that long since I posted on my blog... Time sure does fly... I wish I could say it's because of all the fun I have been having but sometimes life likes to get up in your face and say hello here I am.... That is exactly what happened. So now things seem to be back to normal... A while back I promised a peek at my card sketch book. So better late then never.

My Card sketch book.

It is filled with 4x6 graph index cards. The covers are just a nice thick chipboard... I love the kraft look so I choose to not cover the entire front cover. Some 1" circles cut out from several of my favorite papers, some amazing ribbon and my most favorite things buttons and butterflies with a little bling. I punched and bound it with my bind it all. Simple easy and way affordable. The pack of graph index cards I separated in half and it made 2 of these 4x6 sketch books. I always draw out my sketches of cards, layouts etc with little notes here and there of embellishments I think I may use on them etc. The graph paper is great because it makes it easy to draw a perfect square. hehe I use to use those cheep spiral bound graph notebooks that cost an arm and a leg but they are getting harder and harder to find so I started making my own when I purchased my bind it all when it first came out... This cost me less then $3.00 to make.

This weekend I will share a few pages from the inside along with the cards that came from those sketches.

We have so much to show - our design team has amazing work in there and besides all the previous stock, we have NEW shapes in the Clear & Chip line (12x12 sheets of both acrylic and chipboard shapes for an album or cards or whatever your heart desires). Our new C&C lines are both holiday theme: Believe and Holiday Treats. Here's a peek of what Rita did with one of them:

Our Mixable albums that were so popular over the past few shows have some new additions as well, with a twist. Our previous Mixable albums have been 12x6 and their new friend, Sassy and Lacey are 8x8! We love them. You can fit more pictures on them for one thing. Here's what Hilde did with one:

Our ever-popular XL shapes which are perfect for layouts, but also can be made into any number of altered art items (because they're easily cut, embossed, bound, scored, etc, etc) have a new shape addition too - the scalloped square and circle set. Pinky did this scalloped square layout:

AND, we have banners! We have had the cutest banners for awhile now - and this year we've added a GREAT new banner for the holiday season called Gingerbread. It's got a house in the middle, gingerbread men and snowflakes - perfect for decorating your house for Christmas, or holiday classes at your LSS....in fact one person at the show suggested that it would be a fun class to teach in 3 stages - first just the snowflakes, a week later the gingerbread men, and then a final class to teach the house and put it all together. Wouldn't that be fun?

One of the new albums from Clear Scraps is called Sassy and I just adore it. It's a new 8x8 mixable album. I just love all the mixable albums as they are always so fun to create with. Here is what I created with it.

Butterflies and bling are 2 of my favorite things and when I seen this weeks sketch at 2 sketches 4 you I new what I wanted to do right away. Although being sick most of this week put a little damper on creating I got a chance to sit down today and play with all things paper, glitter, ribbon and bling.

This week I found some time to work with this weeks sketch at 2 Sketches 4 You. I know I always say this but it's totally true. I just adore their sketches and the fab inspiration that the designers layout there as well as checking out all the other cards.
